Rachel:
Good news, and I hope a speedy recovery as well. I understand at least a bit of what you went through, having had golf ball-sized tumors removed last summer. A pain, yes, but part of life. Within 10 days of surgery, I hit the gym with a vengeance, bound and determined not to be a victim. I've also taken up sculpture and painting, and have done more pro bono work than before. I encourage you experience life to the fullest, and thank God every day for what you have.

Regards,

David Bradin

Dear Mr. Bradin:
Thank you for your thoughts. I had a golf-sized tumor removed too. It was large and wrapped around the nerves and took a long time to remove. But I'm on the road to recovery. I returned to work in a little less than a month. I am a little tired at the end of the day and I have facial paralysis on the right side which the doctors think will resolve. Other than these symptoms, I have no pain, no CSF leaks and no other complications. All in all, I count myself lucky to be alive and to have made it.

Funny, but experiences such as these always make one realize how fragile life is and to appreciate life more. If the voters elect me, well and good, but if not, I will go about my business and retire to a quiet life at the beach doing my embroidery, cooking or studying history. Either way, I will enjoy what life is left and give thanks to God for it.

Best wishes,

Rachel
