Jeff Johnson
Ms. Hunter,
I just read an article telling how you'd recently quit the disturbingly corrupt and unAmerican republican party.
Personally, I've always had great difficulty in understanding how women and/or minorities could ever fall prey to that exclusionary, racist, sexist, bigoted party to begin with, but that's another discussion.
I wish to commend you heartily for your courageous, patriotic comments denouncing the anti-democratic tactics of this dangerously extremist and militant party of hatred and divisiveness. It's only through TRULY conservative voices speaking out against this revolting party that they will ever be vanquished and have hope of returning to their once-held conservative beliefs.
I know that you will be publicly villified and excoriated for what you've said, and I want you to know that there are those among us who have watched in absolute horror as this incredibly corrupt white house and political party have dismantled American democratic ideals piece by piece, from their fraudulant elections to their illegal wars.
May God protect you and bless you. You have done your country a great service, and you can forever hold your head up as a true patriot. When the rampant corruption and fascism of today's republican party have been beaten back, it is brave souls like yourself that will be revered as true champions of democracy. I applaud you and am truly thankful and humbled.
Sincerely,
Jeff Johnson
Dear Mr. Johnson:
Thank you for your support. You are correct in your assertions regarding today's so-called Republican party. The state party is just a microcausm of what is happening nationally. The neo-cons have taken hold; they have abandoned true Republican ideals and replaced them with their own agenda of world domination and fascism. I do not share these views and have left.
I took some heat from people who follow blindly. But I received much more support from others such as yourself. Many are out there who share your opinion. And many more will do so if things continue to deteriorate in Iraq and elsewhere as I think they will. So in the meantime, they will call out their dutiful dogs to talk up the war and push their agenda. However, we will be watching and waiting. And we will see which of us is right next year.
Best wishes,
Rachel
