I came across your web site while browsing. What a pleasant surprise! I am a Democrat that sees that we have NO party leadership other than Howard Dean, and he can't fight the "old boys"...there's too many of them. I am definitely anti-war and I'm just amazed at how many lies and sordid dealings this administration has perpetrated, and the American public either hasn't caught on or they are just sitting like sheep waiting for something to happen. You are the type of Republican I remember from my youth (I'm 70)...people who would work with Democrats to get things done. Thank you for taking a stand. I have a daughter who lives in Greensboro . I have sent her your web site. You can definitely count on a few more votes the next time you run! I hope your recovery is going well. Take care of yourself. This country needs people like you in office.

Dear Ms. Letendre:
Thank you for your support. I am not a Republican any more! I do not think that party labels, like conservative-liberal or Republican-Democrat are particularly helpful. I think what is useful is being pro-war (neo-con) or anti-war. You are correct though - Howard Dean cannot battle the establishment that has infiltrated both parties.
The process is slow, but people are waking up. The neo-cons are beginning to desert the president. The president is losing it, as evidenced by his very un-presidential comments and actions in flipping the bird at the media and in calling Cindy Sheehan a bitch. And the anti-war movement is continuing to grow. I think that as gas prices continue to rise at home and as things worsen abroad, people, more people will blame the president and his policies for leading us into this mess. We will see how the next elections turn out.
We do need good leaders in office. Too many are more concerned about getting themselves re-elected and not enough about the people theya re supposed to represent. However, there are good people out there, and I'm sure that you will help support them.
Best wishes,
Rachel
