Judge Robin Hudson is running for the North Carolina Supreme Court because she believes the people of North Carolina want and deserve justices on their highest court who have the judgment and common sense that come from extensive experience in many areas of law with many types of people. Her only agenda is to work hard to apply the law fairly in each and every case, and she has a record which demonstrates that this is what she does.

Judge Hudson is the only Democrat in the race who has served on an appeals Court, as she has done for the past five years. Before that, she also served in an appeals judge capacity on the NC OSHA Review Board (part-time) for 6 1/2 years. As a practicing lawyer for 25 years, she represented clients all over the state and handled a wide variety of trials and appeals, including civil and criminal cases (from traffic tickets to capital murder), family law, workers' compensation, employment cases, property matters, and many others. As a lawyer, she worked on at least 200 appeals before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.

Judge Hudson is the only candidate in this race who has run and won a statewide appellate race as a Democrat, which she did in 2000, becoming the first woman elected to the Court of Appeals without having been appointed first. She has been endorsed by all three living former Democratic Chief Justices (Hons. Burley Mitchell, Henry Frye, and James Exum, whose letter can be read at our website: www.RobinHudson.org), the North Carolina Association of Educators, the NC AFL-CIO, the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers, the NC Association of Women Attorneys, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Political Caucus, the Durham Committee, the Durham People's Alliance, the Winston-Salem Journal, the Independent Weekly, and NC NOW.
