Subject: Good luck!
It's hot and humid up here in Northern Michigan, but I want to take
some
time to offer you words of encouragement.
You must be getting to the neocons as they are using such tactics
against
you. You must be doing something right.
Don't quit! It is obvious you are a fighter for the real America, not
the
america of some neco zionist wetdream.
Even though it is obvious by my greeting from Michigan(the landfill
state) I
am not of your judicial district, I find myself in complete agreement
with
you. There are far too many people with their heads buried in the sand
or
are too afraid, or just simply too party loyal to see what is happening
to
our Nation.
A wise man once said "America will not fall to the forces from without,
but
to the forces from within". It is obvious this is now happening.
The frustration, anger and fear sometimes keeps me awake at night and I
wonder what has happened to the land of freedom, justice and liberty.
More and more I think about leaving America out of fear of what it is
becoming. Between the neocon facists and the religious right, I feel
that
America may become"undone".
Kepp up the good fight and don't let the fools get you down. They know
not
what they say for their ignorance.
Sincerely
John Zook
P/S I am currently running for precinct delegate for the Democratic
party in
my home town and this will be my first forray into the world of
politics.
Yecchh.
Dear Tom,
Greetings from the equally hot and humid South! Thank you kindly for
the
words of support and encouragement. I appreciated them and know
equally
what you are going through.
Politics is even worse than you imagined with the corruption, greed,
back-room deals and mud-slinging, even by those that you thought were
friends. In fact, you will learn that those you think of as friends
will
desert you at the faintest hint of trouble. Real friends stick with
you
even when the chips are down.
However, politics can be equally wonderful. It is a joy to know that
you
have touched the life of someone not only in your own state, but across
the
United States and across the world, to know that they hear your message
and
agree with you. So I would encourage you to keep up the fight
regardless
of the outcome.
I have thought too about America and the consequences. I know that
things
can be changed, but it will take many more people to wake up. Some
people
are satisfied with their lives. Others realize that something is wrong,
but
they do not know what to do. Still others, like you or myself are
doing
something about it. Regardless of the outcome, I hope that my campaign
will
serve as an inspiration to others so that they will lead the next
foray.
Someone needs to keep speaking up and getting the message out.
When this campaign is over, I am done with politics. If I win, I will
gladly serve and do my part to restore justice to a badly broken
system. I
have thought about leaving the US because I agree with you, that if
things
do not radically change in November, then it is essentially hopeless.
We
are living in what has become a police state and it will only continue
and
get worse until the cycle will begin anew.
It is best not to dwell on outcomes; it will make you depressed
thinking of
our loss of liberty and that the neo-cons have messed things up so
badly.
Associate with those who agree with you and share in your quest for a
better
tomorrow.
Best wishes and good luck on your candidacy for precinct delegate,
Rachel
